Ab crunches may be the most popular core exercise and ab exercise, but many people don’t know how to do them correctly.

Here are some of the biggest mistakes when doing ab crunches.

The first big mistake is pulling on the neck when doing crunches. When your core muscles are weak, you may have the tendency to pull on your neck in order to lift yourself off the floor.

The second big mistake is not using the full range of motion. In crunches, you should attempt to lift your shoulders off the floor. Your abdominal muscles move your middle and lower back, so in order to work your abdominals you must lift your shoulders off the floor and move your mid back.

Crunches are a great ab exercise and core exercise if you do them properly. Click here to see pictures of how to do ab crunches.

The regular plank (balancing face down on your elbows and toes) is a great core exercise, and it’s often a starting point for core training. However, once people master the regular plank, it’s on to the side plank.

Just like the regular plank the side plank is an isometric exercise, which simply means that you hold the position without moving.

There are many variations of the side plank, but here are descriptions of two versions. While lying on your side, you would lift your body and balance on your feet and elbow. Keep your body in a straight line and hold that position for 10-30 seconds.

If you want to increase the stability challenge balance on your feet and hand. Make sure to keep your hand in a straight line under your shoulder, and don’t forget to breathe.

The side plank will work on increasing your lateral stability and strengthen your external obliques and internal obliques. The side plank is one of the best isometric oblique exercises you can do.

So try adding it to your core workout.

The plank exercise is probably the most popular isometric core exercise.

Isometric means staying at the same length or it simply means that you hold one position without moving.

To perform the plank exercise, you would simply lie face down on the floor and then balance on your elbows and toes with your body off the ground.

Gravity will pull your body downwards, so your abdominal muscles will have to work to prevent your spine from sagging.

The plank is a great core stabilization exercise and many people use it to strengthen the abdominals, support good posture, and prevent lower back pain.

Try adding in the plank to your core workout.
